ARUNACHAL EXPEDITION


Where Himalayas meet TIBET

Arunachal, majorly nested amongst the Eastern Himalayan range has many circuits to explore. We are riding to major destinations in the Western Arunachal Tract along with a few unexplored locations in the North West parts of Tawang District.

North of the Tawang district is Lhasa, the Capital of Tibet. Just 250 kilometers.

This Tour encompasses travelling to Guwahati by Air/Train and riding from Guwahati to Eastern Himalayas.
Duration: 7 Nights/ 8 Days (With One Buffer Day)
Mode: Motorcycle – 200cc+ Variants only

Border Visits: One. Indo-China Border
National Park: Two. Pakke Tiger Reserve and Nameri National Park. (Pobitora National Park depending upon time duration on the 8th day. Cost not Included)
(Please note that this is NOT a relaxed ride. We would be riding hard across vast Himalayan terrain with unpaved roads. Only seasoned riders are advised to join)

EXPEDITION - DAY WISE PLAN

DAY 1: GUWAHATI to JAMIRI (275Kms)

Land in Guwahati on Day 0. Stay in Backpacker Hostel. Bike Check

Day 1: Ride to Jamiri crossing the Arunachal border at Bhalukpong. We will be crossing Nameri National Park and Pakke Tiger Reserve on the way. Stay at Jamiri.

DAY 2: JAMIRI to TAWANG (230Kms)

Ride across Bomdila and Sela to Tawang. A quick stop at JaswantGarh Memorial and Nuranang Falls. Stay at Tawang

DAY 3: Around Tawang

Land of the Lamas, Tawang boasts of rich heritage of Mahayana Buddhism. We will visit monasteries and view points on Tawang today. Permit work to proceed to Bumla. Stay at Tawang

DAY 4: BUMLA/ ZEMITHANG (100Kms)

BUMLA. At an elevation above 15000FT and covered in snow for 9 months in a year. To visit Bumla, Permit from DC office and at the Tawang War Memorial needs to be acquired. Once obtained, we will visit Bumla and Madhuri Lake today. We will proceed via Taktsang to Zemithang for stay.

DAY 5: ZEMITHANG (120Kms)

Secluded place in the North Western Part of Tawang District, Zemithang is a completely offbeat location that is yet to be explored. We will explore Zemithang Village today and the proceed via Vijaya Falls and Lumla Village and finally to Tawang. Stay at Tawang

DAY 6: TAWANG TO THEMBANG (170Kms)

Across Sela once again. We will ride to Thembang, a Heritage Village with innumerable stories and we will explore the region around Dirang. Stay: Thembang/Dirang

DAY 7: THEMBANG TO GUWAHATI (300Kms)

We will ride back either from Jamiri route or through Shergaon towards Guwahati, with a quick stop at Bomdila for lunch. Stay: Guwahati

DAY 8: BUFFER DAY

Fly out of Guwahati in the afternoon/evening.

An extra buffer day is essential when riding in the Himalayas!
