Where are we headed?
BHUJODI
A small town, located 8km southeast of Bhuj, Bhujodi is one of the major textile and craft hubs of the region, and a veritable draw for the traveller. A large part of the Vankar community resides here. These are specialists in weaving, tie and dye and other craft forms that make the backbone of Kutch’s handicraft scene. There are specific craft and arts centers around Bhujodi, but even if you into any house, you can be assured that the family will be involved in some kind of handicraft. The Ashapura Crafts Park, Shrujan and Hiralaxmi Craft Park lie in this region.
BHUJ
Aina Mahal, Parag Mahal, Harmisar Lake, Museum, Shroff Bazaar, Food Street and much more. Bhuj is the epicentre of Kutchi Culture. To travel anywhere in Kutch District, it is always wise to reach Bhuj first and then ride across the Largest District of the Country.
DHORDO
Dhordo is the nearest village to the Kutch Rann Utsav area. A quaint village has become a hotbed for Tourism in the past decade.
KURAN
Kuran Village is where the movie Hellaro was shot. There are still movie sets and Bhungas from the abandoned film site. From Kuran the beautiful stretch of White Salt Flat is visible and so is the Rann of Kutch Lake filled with Flamingos and the India Bridge. This village has a scary story too. #unexplored
INDIA BRIDGE
The main bridge that connects the mainland Kutch to the Great Rann Salt Land. This bridge is of great importance to the Armed Forces as this helps the BSF to ply forces to the border parts of Kutch District.
KHARI NADI
A Beautiful Canyon on the Kodki Road near the Bhuj city limits. #unexplored
KARK VRUT
Tropic of Cancer, in simple terms, is the imaginary line that cuts across the country separating our land into Tropic and Sub Tropic Regions. It so happens that this line splits the Kutch District as well in two.
TENT CITY
To Clarify, Tent city is almost 5 kilometers away from the White Desert. No one is allowed to pitch their own private tents or public tent setup in the White Marshland as it falls under Protected Area of Ramsar Convention. One Day stay in the Tent city is worth the money they charge for. And that’s it. Just One Day.
HODKA
Hodka Village is one of the growing rural tourism spots that attracts visitors for its rich art and crafts and strong cultural backgrounds. Located at a distance of about 63 km from Bhuj, the village is home to the Meghwals, who are traditional craft and embroidery artisans from further north. Tourists get a chance to live with the communities in Hodka’s Village Resort called Shaam-e-Sarhad or sunset at the border.
BHIRANDIYARA
This is the junction where one road leads to Hodka and Dhordo and the other leads to India Bridge, Vighakot, Kalo Dungar and Bediya Bet.
RANN OF KUTCH LAKE
There exists a huge lake in the middle of Great Rann of Kutch. The Government is trying to build a road bridge in the middle of it, to connect Dhordo to Dholavira to reduce the time and distance between the two Tourism Hubs. This place teems with Flamingos all the time. One can see the lake from Kalo Dungar view point as well.
WHITE DESERT
Do we need an explanation for this place! After all, we are selling this place as the main product. We will explain the physics and reason behind the white desert when we are there.
SHROFF BAZAAR
Shroff Bazaar in Bhuj is the most popular street market and you could almost everything of need and souvenirs in the market.
BHUTAU
Bhutau is the Westernmost Village of India. It is a quaint village with a primary school, a masjid and a few households in the vicinity. This area is restricted to civilians and it falls under the Roadasar Lakki Control Area. Check with operator if we are visiting.
