Apricot Blossom Tour of Ladakh

In 2021, Ladakh Tourism Development Authority had inaugurated a new festival called “Apricot Blossom Festival” that had been scheduled in Spring Season. This is a new initiative by the Ladakh Tourism Department, and many tourists are not wary about it. So, we can guarantee Zero Tourist Crowd during this season!

No of Days – 5 Days/ 5 Nights
Route to Explore – The West and The North
*Khardung La road closure due to Snowfall predicted. The route plan may change if the North route is Closed.

DAY WISE ITINERARY (may change depending upon route closure at Khardung La)

DAY 1: Fly to LEH

Fly to Leh from your Home City. 
Flights to Leh are usually in the Morning from Delhi. If you are Travelling from Any city other than Delhi, you need to reach New Delhi on Day 0.

We will rest the entire day to acclimatize. It is essential as Leh falls on the very high altitude range. Precautions to avoid AMS to be noted.

DAY 2: Leh to Diskit/ Kargil

PLAN 1: Leh to Diskit – 120 KMS.
Route: The North. via K/ La
This route is the popular Nubra route. We will stay in Diskit before moving to Northernmost parts of India

PLAN 2: Leh to Kargil – 200 KMS.
Route: The West. via Namika La
If the K/ La route is closed, we will be riding towards Kargil.
We will do a quick pitstop in Mulbekh.

DAY 3: Diskit to Turtuk/ Kargil to Dha

PLAN 1: Diskit to Turtuk – 80 KMS
The Apricot Blossom Day. We will take a walk along the villages of Turtuk and Tyakshi. The Main Day!

PLAN 2: Kargil to Dha – 70 KMS
The second route where the festival blossoms. We will pass through the villages of Dha and Sanjak!

DAY 4: Turtuk to Leh/ Dha to Leh

PLAN 1: Return route to Leh – 200 KMS

Hard ride back to Leh on this day.

PLAN 2: Dha to Leh – 170 KMS

Hard ride back to Leh through the Indus River route.

DAY 5: Leh - Alchi/ Leh - Khardung La

PLAN 1: Route: The West.

If we are successful in exploring the Apricot Blossom Festival in the North route, we will take one extra day to explore the sights on the West. Alchi, Sangam, Magnetic Hill, Gurudwara and Basgo Dam

PLAN 2: Route: The North.

If in case we are unable to visit the North route for the festival via K/La, we will ride 40 Kms till the point where the road is blocked to get the beautiful view of the Leh town and the Snow filled K/La Top.

DAY 6: Fly out of LEH

Fly out of Leh on Day 6. 

THINGS TO NOTE
1. The Pangong Route is closed in Spring. Therefore we will not ride through the route.
2. The Hanle route will not be explored in Spring. Hanle ride is included in July/August Plan (Including Tso Moriri)
3. If the route to Siachen is open, then we may consider riding to Warshi, Panamic and Siachen Base Camp during the first Plan.
